can u guys recommend on a good Vegetable chopper

I was watching this nicer dicer on tele shopping show. After seeing it, now I am tempted to get one for me.I was going through nicer dicer's review and it seems not good . I can also get a chopper from US as somebody will be travelling now and then from here.

I am totally confused now as which one to get .I absolutely have no knowledge about this and I havent even seen anybody using it here in India.

So, friends I need your help on should I get one and if at all it will be useful ,then which one to get.

I have tried few choppers but nothing worked for me. I think, we fancy a chopper hoping that it will make the vegetable cutting job easier. But sadly it doesn’t. The disadvantages of these choppers are
1. You don’t get to examine each vegetable closely as like we do with knives. Ex. Beans
2. You still have to peel the vegetables by yourself which takes more time than chopping actually. ex. Potato, onion
3. After few uses these blades lose their sharpness (the claims made by them are definitely false I tell you).
4. You still will be spending the same amount of time chopping the veggies as you have to assemble, clean etc with the chopper
I have seen people using it enthusiastically in the beginning but later throw it to the attic and get back to the traditional method. I recommend a stainless steel chef knife for you. Go for a heavy, sharp one with a broad handle. It makes chopping easier and fun (atleast for me it does)
But if you don’t mind spending few bucks and trying something new, go for the chopper and let me know how you liked it.

Hi Pavi, I am using Cuisinart chopper...this is really good, esp when making nonveg dishes..the onions are getting chopped really fine.

hmmm...I haven't seen prof chefs using them though they cut tonnes of veggies everyday :) But still, you can give it a try if you have a chunk of money to spare. I personally did not find them useful.
